Tasting notes

This wine was made from the oldest block of Pinotage on our farm. Harvested end of January, the grapes were specially picked early to enhance the specific style. We were looking for something balanced with good fruit/acid ratio and also not to extreme in alcohol.A short skin contact was given (30 - 40 minutes) and the crushed berries were very gently pressed. Our aim was freshness. From this stage onwards the juice was treated like a white wine, with cold settling, fermentation etc. Light in color, almost showing hints of fresh made Turkish delight/smoked salmon. You can almost see the freshness in this wine. Lovely nose, with strawberry, almond and rose petal sensations. On the palette, balanced with lovely lingering fruit with great freshness and mouth feel. A ""sexy"" wine to be enjoyed young. This wine will complement fresh food, but can also be enjoyed chilled with some good friends."
